CCWC is elder led, which means means:

  • The ultimate authority for the local church is the Lord Jesus Christ (Eph 1:22, 5:23; 1 Cor 11:3; Col 1:18).
  • Those tasked with leading the local church, interchangeably called elders, overseers, pastors, or bishops in the New Testament Church (Acts 20:17, 28; Titus 1:5, 7; 1 Pet 5:1-12), serve under the authority of Jesus Christ.
  • Only those who fulfill the qualifications in 1 Tim 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9 are qualified to serve the local church as elders. This means that only men may serve as elders at CCWC.
  • The elders dedicate themselves to the tasks of:
    • Prayer and the ministry of the word (Acts 6:4)
    • Preaching the word; reproving, rebuking, and exhorting, with complete patience and teaching (2 Tim 4:2)
    • Shepherding the flock of God (1 Pet 5:2)
    • Being an example to others (1 Pet 5:3)
    • Leadership in the areas where the congregation does not have biblical authority

Rene Rodriguez

Raised in West Chester, Rene has been a part of our surrounding community his entire life. He worked as an elementary school teacher for over 30 years before retiring in 2019. Though he attended church for much of his adult life, it wasn’t until after he began attending CCWC that he realized he did not believe the gospel after all. God opened his eyes to his need for a Savior and he was brought from death to eternal life. He and his wife Idalia live in West Chester and enjoy being grandparents and trips to Chincoteague, VA.

Nick Gaetani

Nick lives in Wilmington, Delaware with his wife, Meredith and their daughter, Anna. Although Nick has lived all over the Delaware Valley, he will always hold a special place for West Chester, as it was through living here that he came to faith in Christ and met Meredith. He earned his B.A from York College of Pennsylvania and his M.A. from West Chester University. When not serving the church, he works as a financial advisor in Newark, Delaware. He enjoys travel, trying new foods, going on walks with Meredith & Anna, sports (especially soccer and racing), reading an eclectic mix of books on a number of topics, and a host of other things. He also loves meeting new people, so feel free to say hi to him on Sunday mornings.
