Deacons

CCWC is deacon served, which means:

  • Only those who fulfill the qualification in 1 Tim 3:8-13 are qualified to serve the local church as deacons. This means that both men and women may serve as deacons at CCWC.
  • Acts 6 provides the basis for setting aside a group of people to do manual work, freeing up the elders to do the work of prayer and the ministry of the word.
  • Deacons have no authority or leadership, and are not a “board,” but are individually set apart specifically to care for the temporal needs of the church.
