We are humbled to announce that The Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia has selected Christ Church West Chester to receive a Grand Jury Award for the repair and restoration of our building’s tower. This award is given to recognize and celebrate the highest level of achievement in historic building restoration in the greater Philadelphia area.
In the spring and winter of 2019, Christ Church West Chester undertook a wholesale restoration of our building’s tower, strengthening the structure, repointing the stonework, replacing the broken spires at the top, and repainting all of the wood. This project was made possible by the generous giving of the members of Christ Church West Chester and we remain grateful to God for his gracious provision to our church. This award is the second time Christ Church West Chester has been recognized for the tower restoration project as, just last year, we were awarded the 2022 Bricks and Mortar Preservation Award by the The West Chester Downtown Foundation.
While we are immensely grateful to The Preservation Alliance for this award, we also recognize that both this building and its preservation are gifts from God. Please join us in praying that a faithful and vibrant witness to the Lord Jesus Christ would remain in this historic building for decades and centuries to come!
